Some of the victims even appear to work in high-profile places like Downing Street in London and the White House in Washington DC.

Hook-up app 3Fun has been accused of having appalling security by security experts.

Poor app design exposed users' real-time location, date of birth, sexual preferences, chat data and private pictures, experts warned.

And users were reportedly still at risk even if they had high-privacy settings switched on.

According to cyber-experts at Pen Test Partners, the real time location data showed that some of the group sex app users appear to work in 10 Downing Street, the White House and the US Supreme Court.

The 3Fun app itself claims to have 1.5million users in major cities like New York, Las Vegas and Washington D.C.

This isn't the first dating app to have location disclosure issues.

Apps like Grindr have previously been manipulated through a process called 'trilateration', which involves spoofing GPS locations to get exact positions and distances of other users.

But 3Fun is said to be even less secure, because it's easy for hackers to use something called a GET request to find exact co-ordinates of a user.

Users of 3Fun can restrict what they tell people on the app, but the server within the mobile app interface is still holds their location co-ordinates – and could be easily hacked.

However, the leak doesn't necessarily mean Downing Street aides are using the app for kinky romps.

Experts warned that pranksters could've used the app's privacy holes to edit user locations.

If the users really are working in these powerful places then the easily accessible birthday data on the server system could make it possible to work out who they are.

The investigation into the app also found private photos could easily be exposed.
