Setting up and accessing an IMAP email account on gmail
Reposting this as no responses first time round and the Gmail help centre doesn't answer the question:
As part of a website builder package, I havecreated an email address and want to be able to access this.
Following their instructions, I managed to add this to gmail using myandroid phone (IMAP).
However, now I want to send emails from my desktop and am struggling toaccess it! I've gone to my gmail and logged in, but am unable to find this newemail account anywhere. Also I'm trying to get IMAP and not POP.
Tried following some google instructions, but no joy. Here's a couple ofthings I tried and the issues I had:
1. Settings / Forwarding and POP/IMAP / Then checked that the status forIMAP is enabled. (It was)

Entered in the new email address and press Next
Next option says 'import emails from my other account (POP3)
o this already has a check against it and I can't change it - didn't wantPOP3, but rather IMAP
o username - populated the same as the email address
o password - used the same password as I did when I set it up successfullyon android phone
o POP server - it's pre-populated with mail.examplewebsite.co.uk
o port - says 110 (but with a drop down to change)
o check boxes - leave copy of message on server, use SSL etc
My issues with this is that firstly I didn't want POP3 and secondly whenI select add account, I get an error message saying 'there was a problemconnecting to mail.examplewebsite.co.uk
Can someone help? I'm not techy at all, so getting this far has been astretch!!!
Essentially, I just want to be able to read and send emails from thedesktop when I login to gmail. It's working fine from my phone, so confused onhow to set it up on a desktop.
